ANGELINE ARRONENZI (GIORDANO)
February 6, 2010

As quietly as the snow fell on Feb. 6, 2010, Angeline Arronenzi slipped away to be reunited with her husband Mario Arronenzi. Angeline was 85 years young. Angie left a multitude of families. She leaves her friends at Clairbridge Assisted Living, where she spent 2 happy years. Defying Alzheimer’s, she always maintained her gift of helping others and being aware of everyone’s needs and likes. Angie’s main job at Clairbridge was being spoiled by everyone. She was very hard to resist with her pleasant nature, shiny halo of silver hair and her beautiful bright smile. Angeline resided in Burlington with her husband of 60 years, Mario Arronenzi, deceased in Feb 2, 2008.
She leaves behind her daughter Filomena Arronenzi, grandson William Arronenzi 37, and granddaughter Angela Caruso 39. William Kniss, 21, great-grandson, was a continuing source of pride for Angeline. Her great-granddaughters, Nina Arronenzi, 9, and Ana Arronenzi, 7, were her burst of sunshine and happiness. Their genuine, constant, unselfish support through their “Naunie’s” illness was a mirror of Angeline’s goodness. The light that these girls brought into the nursing facilities was quite awesome to behold. Angeline grew up in Beverly in a very poor environment from Italian decent. Her parents Domenic and Rosario Giordano started a chain of strong work ethics, good morals, and walking in faith and joy. Angeline along with her brother Joseph Giordano (Edgewater Park) would work on the farms before going to elementary school and then return to work after the school day was over. Hard work was no stranger to the Giordano family. She is also survived by Pep’s wife Margaret Santucci Giordano. Marge and Angie were more than in-laws, they were sisters. At a ripe age of 15, Angeline went to work for the dress mills, another test of strength and work ethics. During her marriage she continued in the dress factories in sewing, ironing, and anything else that work bring in money for the family. She worked for a number of years in the Burlington City School District cafeterias. She procured a job with Strawbridge & Clothier in the security department, making her confidence soar. Imagine the pride of a woman from the farms working in a security job at a major department store? Angeline worked for Wal-Mart also to fill up a few hours each day during her retirement years. Angeline fell in love with Mario at the sight of that man in his US Army Air Corp. uniform. From that point on, it was a love story. She waited for him to come home from his missions in Europe and the Pacific; they were married, and never parted until his passing. Angeline passed 2 years to the day that her beloved husband was buried. She is survived by her most special sister-in-law Alba Coccia, and many nieces and nephews. She will always be their unique “N age”. She is also survived by her nephew “son” Vincent Esposito. Angeline was always part of the pro-active group of seniors in Burlington and Beverly. She headed the Burlington Farnerville section of the Cancer Society forever. Charitable, happy, and sweet, Angeline could be found driving around in her 1972 Gold Plymouth Scamp bringing girls to meetings, pinochle, bingo, and the casino. She was always responsible for the “meatballs”. Angeline won numerous awards for her baking and cooking recipes. She will be remembered for many things, her most remarkable accomplishment was beating that Alzheimer’s. She never forgot her friends, her family or her God. She passed away to Mario after a 5 month stay at the Masonic Home. Her forever devoted daughter, Filomena was once again blessed to be surrounded by the sprit during her passage from this world.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday in the First Baptist Church of Burlington, Stacy Street at East Broad Street. Friends may visit with her family from 10:30am until service time at the church. Burial will be private and held at her family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association of SJ, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053 would be appreciated by her family.
