Dorothy Marie Atkinson
July 1, 2009

Dorothy Marie Atkinson, age 76 of Beverly, died Wednesday July 1, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden. Mrs. Atkinson was a longtime resident of Beverly. She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Lola Hutson. She is survived by her husband Charles M. Atkinson, her sons Charles H. Atkinson and Robert Atkinson. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brandon, Brian, Chelsea and Michael Atkinson. A memorial service will be held 2pm Monday July 6th at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Monday between 1 and 2pm


 
 
JOHN A. CLARK, JR. "CHUB"
June 29, 2009

John A. Clark, Jr., “Chub” formerly of Delanco, passed away at the Masonic Home of NJ in Burlington Township on Monday at the age of 91. John was born in Philadelphia and served his country proudly in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theatre Campaign. He worked for Con-Wed, then the NJ Turnpike Authority before retiring from the State of NJ as an OSHA Inspector. He also sold farm equipment for Scott’s and knew every back road in South Jersey. He was an F&AM of the Beverly/Riverside Lodge #107, who also enjoyed sailing and traveling. John was the husband of the late Ethel (nee: Wells) Clark and brother of the late Frances and Robert Clark, and father of the late Carolyn Westerby and her husband Thomas. John is survived by a son and daughter in law Robert & Carole Jean Clark of Maine, his grandchildren Heather (Clark) and her husband Aaron Crowe, Jon Westerby and his wife Lacey, a great grandchild Joshua Crowe and a sister and brother in law Jean & Otie Hennigs. Visitation and services will be held in the Masonic Home of NJ Chapel, 902 Jacksonville Rd in Burlington Twp, on Thursday July 2nd. Visitation from 9:30am until 10am with a Masonic Service at 10 and religious service at 10:30am. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park, Rt. 130 North., Cinnaminson.


 
 
POMPEO ALDO FAZZONE
June 23, 2009

Pompeo Aldo Fazzone, “Aldo”, of Burlington City, formerly of Beverly, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 in Lourdes Hospital, Willingboro, at the age of 79. Aldo was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 4, 1926. He moved to New Jersey in 1958. He worked for the Statler Hotel and the Ben Franklin Hotel as a purchasing agent. He then was a bus driver for thirteen years for Transport of New Jersey, then for sixteen years for the Hainesport school and for four years for Laurel Enterprises Bus Company. He retired with the exemplary record of having “no accidents” for thirty-five years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and the Knights of Columbus, both in Beverly. He also volunteered as a “guardian” for the members of the church’s Altar-Rosary Society and the Wednesday night Holy Hour, by escorting members to their cars after meetings. Aldo also volunteered as a driver for FISH, an organization that provides transportation for patients to doctor appointments and chemotherapy treatments. He was a loving caretaker for his family and their many pets, their dogs, cats, parrots and bunnies. He was known for his kindness to all. There wasn’t a kinder or gentler soul on earth.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Jude (nee Arenholz), his sons, James Aldo and Jon Arthur (wife, Barbara), his grandchildren, William, Andrew, Meredith, April, Natalie, Daniel, Peter, Laura, Sean, and foster parent to fifteen children.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 29th, in St. Paul’s Catholic Church, E. Union St., Burlington, with burial following in Brig. Gen. Wm C.
Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. Friends may also call at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington, on Sunday, from 6 to 9 PM and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
Because of cemetery restrictions on flowers, donations made in Aldo’s memory to the American Red Cross, 1632 Route 38, Lumberton, NJ 08048; or to the Salvation Army, 701 North Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19123, would be appreciated by his family.


 
 
Michael Francis Agunsday
June 20, 2009

Michael Francis Agunsday of Burlington passed away in Samaritan Hospice, Mt. Holly on Saturday at the age of 90. Michael was a longtime Burlington resident who worked as a tool & die maker, first for Wall Rope in Beverly, Fleetwings in Bristol and for the last 20 years at Kaiser. He was a member to the Knights of Columbus Council 589 in Burlington. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Angeline Teresa Agunsday (nee: Marchese) sons and daughters in law Michael & Deborah, Lawrence & Nancy, his grandchildren James, Jessica Lawrence M., Esq. (Jamie) and Susan Agunsday.
Viewings will be held at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington on Thursday from 7-9pm and Friday from 8:30-9:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Paul’s RC Church, E. Union St., Burlington, Friday at 10am with entombment following in Laurel Hill Cemetery Mausoleum. NANCY M. MORRISSEY (GRIPPE)
June 18, 2009

Nancy M. Grippe Morrissey, formerly of Eastampton and of Burlington, died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at her sister’s residence in Burlington City after a lengthy illness at the age of 47. She was the daughter of the late Marie and Robert Grippe, Sr. Nancy attended Burlington Township area schools. She was an avid scrapbooker and paper crafter. Nancy was formerly employed at Prometric Educational Testing Service, in Princeton. She also worked for many years at Rancocas Valley Hospital, in Willingboro.
She is survived by her children, Amy Schuyler and Jennifer (Peter) Samulis, both of Mt. Laurel, Stephanie Morrissey, of Eastampton, and Spc. Richard Morrissey, of Hawaii, her sisters, Rosemarie Crawford-Bulotovich, of Burlington, and Maryann Addari, of Ambler, PA, and her brothers, Robert J. Grippe, Jr. of Willingboro, and Joseph Grippe, of Reading, PA
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday in All Saints Church, High St., Burlington, with burial following in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Friends may call at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM and on Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 AM. TERESA S. TUMACH
June 11, 2009

"Teresa Tumach, a long-time resident of Burlington, died on June 11th @ Masonic Home Hospice. Mrs. Tumach was born in Poland August 1, 1927. She, her siblings and mother were conscripted into a work camp under the Nazi regime during WWII. She married Frank Tumach in 1948 in Hahn, Germany after they met in a displaced persons camp. Their first son, Teddy was born there and the family immigrated to the United States in 1951. They settled in Burlington and the couple went to work for J. Chein Industries. Teresa worked there for 30 years until disability retirement.
Teresa is pre-deceased by her husband Frank, son Stanley, and daughter Mary. She is survived by son Teddy F., daughter-in-law Dorothy (nee Stephenson) and grandson Thaddeus J. Also surviving Mrs. Tumach is her granddaughter Stephanie Young, her husband Jason, their 2 young daughters, Jada Ann and Mykayla Louise, and Jason's sister Ashley. She will be fondly remembered by her sister Irene's children, Stanley M. Michalowski and Elke Neuss and their extended families."
Visitation will be at Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington, on Sunday from 6-8pm and also on Monday from 8:30-9:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in All Saints RC Church, 502 High St, Burlington, 10am Monday with burial following in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Jacksonville Road Burlington. LISA M. MONTALTO (NEE:COSTELLO)
June 10, 2009

Lisa M. Montalto (nee: Costello) of Tuckerton, passed away after a short illness in So. Ocean Co. Hospital on Wednesday at the age of 47. Lisa was a graduate of Burlington City High and class president for class of 1979 and attended Becker College. She was a cat lover who also enjoyed gardening, cooking and fishing. She worked for Viccaro Associates as a bookkeeper.
She was predeceased by her father Pasquale and is survived by her mother Helen, her loving husband of 19 years John Montalto, her brothers and sisters in law Pasquale & Carol, David & Diane, her mother in law Margaret Montalto, brothers and sisters in law Joe & Karen, Tom & the late Sharon, Paul & Janet Montalto, sister in law Margie & Kevin Becker and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. PATRICIA A. NELSON (CLIVER)
June 9, 2009

Patricia A. Nelson (nee: Cliver) a life long resident of Burlington, passed away in Lourdes Hospital, Willingboro on Tuesday at the age of 68. Patricia worked for over 20 years in the debit department of Burlington Coat Factory. She enjoyed her work and her “family” of co-workers. In her spare time she watched her Soaps and was an avid Phillies fan.
She is survived by her daughters Connie Nelson and Deborah Nelson Bucci, her grandchildren Allan Nelson and fiancée Jessica Myers, Amber Nolan and fiancée Andrew George, Deidra Debolt, Clayton Bucci and Sarah Hubert, Charlene Bucci, a great-grandson Allan Nelson, Jr. and too many beloved family members and friends to list.
A viewing will be held at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington on Monday from 6-7:30pm. Cremation services will be private and at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in Patricia’s memory to her daughter to secure a Philadelphia Phillies Urn to honor her loyalty to the team.


 
 
JAMES E. CRAWFORD
June 3, 2009

James E. Crawford, of Burlington Township, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at his residence after a long illness at the age of 61. He was born in Mt. Holly and lived in Burlington Township all of his life. He served in the U. S. Army from 1968 to 1971 and was discharged as a SP5 intelligence analyst. He enjoyed bass fishing and belonged to the Mercer County Bass Anglers Club. His favorite fishing location was in the finger lakes of New York, especially Lake Cayuga. He had worked as a postal clerk for the Clayton Post Office and also worked part time for Home Depot, in Westampton.
Husband of the late Debra Ann (nee Dunbar) and son of the late Thomas E. Crawford, Sr., and Rowena Griggs Crawford. He is survived by his son, Tom, at home, his brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Colona (Edward), of Burlington, Thomas E. Jr. (Bernadette), of Yardville, NJ, and Mary Kerstetter (David), of Burlington, as well as his mother in law and father in law, Virginia and Barry Thomas, of Burlington Township, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 10th, in the Chapel of the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Arneytown. DOROTHY M. SMITH
June 1, 2009

Dorothy M. Smith, of Mt. Laurel, died Monday, June 1st, 2009, at Samaritan Inpatient Care, Mt. Holly, at the age of 72, Mrs. Smith was born in Philadelphia and lived in South Jersey for many years. She had worked as a cashier and counter person for Penn Fruit Co. and last for Jordan Reese Pharmacy.
Wife of the late James, she is survived by her children, Nancy Smith, James R., Smith, Jr. and wife, Elizabeth, and Shawn Smith, nine grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Services are private and under the care of Page Funeral Home, Burlington.


 
 
RUTH McOSCAR (HARKINS)
June 1, 2009

Ruth A. McOscar (nee Harkins), RN, of Burlington Township, died Monday, June 1st, 2009 at her residence after an heroic battle with recurrent breast cancer, at the age of 75. Ruth was born and raised in Burlington Township. She served sixteen years as an army wife, living with her husband in many places during his military career. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing, in Philadelphia, and served as a school nurse at the Wilbur Watts Middle School, in Burlington City, for over twenty years. Ruth was also a devoted animal lover.
She is survived by her husband, Lt. Col. John J. McOscar, USA, Ret., her children and their companions and family, Patricia Mesthos, wife of the late Andrew, her fiance, Vincent Leoni, and her son, George Mesthos, of Edgewater Park, Mary Olsen and husband, Clifford, and their children, Emily, Kevin, Eric, and Luke, of Arlington, VA, Sharon Donnell, and husband, Paul, and their son, Jack Szulc-Donnell, of Kensington, MD, and Joseph M. McOscar, of Hollywood, FL, also, her sister and brother in law, Jane and John B. McCarty, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday in St. Paul’s Catholic Church, E. Union St., Burlington, with burial following in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mt. Holly. LEO ORFE

Leo William Orfe, of Burlington Township, formerly of Beverly, died Monday, June 1st, 2009 at Lourdes Hospital, Willingboro, at the age of 84. Mr. Orfe was born in Beverly and lived most of his life there. He owned and operated Joseph P. Orfe and Sons, roofing and metal work contractors, in Beverly, a company founded by his father in 1910. He was a proud veteran of World War Two who served with C Battery, 221st Field Artillery, American Division, in New Caledonia, Fiji, Guadalcanal, Leyte, Cebu, Negroes, the Japanese surrender and the occupation of Japan. He was a member of numerous civic and fraternal associations, including Past President of the Beverly Lions Club, Charter member of the Beverly Knights of Columbus, former Special Police Officer in Beverly, the Burlington County Fire Police, Past Commander of VFW Post 1817, in Burlington, the American Legion, the Beverly Avenue of Flags Committee, the Oneida Boat Club, in Burlington and the Fraternal Order of Police.
Brother of the late Marceline Morgan and her late husband John, he is survived by his sisters and brothers, Mary Jane Morgan, Hendersonville, NC, Margaret (Francis) D’Autrechy, Burlington, Joseph C. (Louise) Orfe, Altoona, WI, and S. Fred (Patti) Orfe, Burlington, his special friend, Erna Kurti, Shamong, his friend and religious caregiver, Josephine Nicolo, Burlington, and his health caregiver Dana Jean McLean, as well as numerous well loved nieces and nephews. His family would also like to extend a sincere thank you to the compassionate nurses at Lourdes Medical Center in Willingboro who cared for him.
