Donna Marie Abate

Donna Marie Abate (nee Dougherty), died Friday June 2, 2017 at Capital Health, Trenton at the age of 55. Born in Willingboro, Donna was a lifelong resident of Burlington Twp. She was a graduate of Holy Cross High School and Burlington County College. She was a good, caring person with a love of animals which led to her work in the medical field at Deborah Heart and Lung Center and her volunteer work at the Burlington County Animal Shelter. She also held an appreciation for art and enjoyed painting in her spare time. Those who knew her will remember her good sense of humor and the fact that the last few months of her life were among her best. Donna was predeceased by her father Francis A. Dougherty and her sister Catherine M. Raymond. She is survived by her children; William M. Abate, III and Michelle Abate, her mother Susie Dougherty, her brothers and sister-in-law; Michael Dougherty and David and Tracey Dougherty, her best friend Annette Crespy as well as many nieces and nephews. Her family invites friends and relatives to her viewing and funeral mass. Viewing will be held Wednesday June 7th from 9:30-11am at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30am Wednesday in St. Paul R.C. Church, 223 E. Union St., Burlington. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Jacksonville Rd., Burlington. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make contributions in Donna's memory to either St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 223 E. Union St., Burlington or to a charity of the donor's choice.
