Ferdinand "Fred" Ulissi of Burlington City died Saturday April 22, 2017 at Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County in Willingboro at the age of 96. Born in Burlington, Fred remained a lifelong resident. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the army and participating in campaigns in Rhineland, Northern France and Central Europe. Upon returning to Burlington he became a police officer for the Burlington City Police Department. He would go on to serve as an officer for 30 years, retiring with the rank of lieutenant. Fred was a member of the American Legion Post 79 in Burlington and the Burlington City FOP Lodge 63. He was an amateur archeologist who also enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading. Fred was predeceased by his wife Edna Florence Ulissi and his son Fred Ulissi, Jr. He is survived by his daughters Florence Murphy (George), Linda Bowker (William) and Freda Young, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. A viewing for Fred will be held Saturday April 29, 2017 from 8:30-10:30am at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Saturday in St. Paul R.C. Church, 223 E. Union St., Burlington. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Jacksonville Rd., Burlington.
