Janet I. Gough (nee McClanahan) of Mt. Laurel died Monday February 20, 2017 at the Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mt. Holly at the age of 84. Born in Lynchburg, VA was a longtime Burlington area resident. She was a graduate of Temple University and was a home economics teacher and guidance counselor for the Burlington Township School District in the Thomas O. Hopkins Middle School, serving for 23 years until her retirement. She enjoyed bowling with her friends, reading mysteries, doing crossword puzzles and trips to Harrah's in Atlantic City. Daughter of the late Oscar P and Alice K. (nee McCurdy) McClanahan and wife of the late George N. Gough, Janet is survived by her children; Debra A. Spencer, George N. Gough, Jr. and his wife Dolores and Keith W. Gough, her grandchildren; Jillian Gough, Jamie Vaultz and Jennifer (Daniel) Wagner and her great grandchildren; Jonah Vaultz, Julianna Wagner, Danny Wagner and Matthew Wagner. She is also survived by her beloved pet Rosie. Funeral services will be held privately. Memorial contributions made to either Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053 or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
