John "Jack" R. Blackeby was born in Riverside New Jersey. He left this world peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. He is survived by his daughters, Tara and Christy, his son-in-law Matt, his 5 grandchildren Elizabeth, Sofia, Josiah, Mercedes, and Jedidiah, his brother Ronald, sister Louann Gwynn, sisters-in-law Phyllis and Sharon, brother-in-law Robert, and many nieces and nephews and cousins, as well as many dear friends that he considered as family. He is predeceased by his wife Diane and his younger brother, Joseph. Jack was known for his zeal for life and his love of people. His life passions were vast and included, but not limited to, gardening, family gatherings, history and politics, antiques, fine cuisine, and trivia in all forms. Jack was a learner. He loved research and his wealth of knowledge was never wasted, but well invested in the young people he mentored. He was a Vietnam era army veteran and an active member of the Burlington Lodge of Free Masons. By trade, Jack was an aerospace engineer and his work took him to a many places within and outside of the States. He worked on projects such as AirForce One, the Presidential aircraft, the V22, and the Chinook helicopter. He worked for big oil companies such as Bechtel and Foster Wheeler. A Mass for Jack will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 2pm in St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 145 W. Broad St. Burlington, NJ 0816.
