W. Eric Whiteman passed away April 8, 2018. Son of Edythe & Walter Whiteman and brother to Ralph of West Palm Beach, FL and the late Malcolm of Warrington, PA. Also, he leaves two nieces and 2 nephews and his beloved sister-law, Viola. He had a closely knit extended family also, who were all very special to him as he was to them. Eric's parents moved to Livingston, NJ in 1939 where Eric lived until moving to The Masonic Home in Burlington, NJ in 2004. He graduated from LHS 1961. Also, in Livingston, he was a member of Trinity Covenant church and the camera club. He served on the local board of "Partners for People with Disabilities." To many in Livingston, he was known as "The Walker" as he was often seen walking in preparation to travel and hike. Before Orange Memorial Hospital closed, Eric rode the bus to work as hospital staff support for 42&1/2 years. In Burlington, he continued his daily walking and was often on his computer, especially enjoying digital art. The residents and staff became "family" to Eric. Eric's final resting place will be in Montana where he loved hiking, and photographing. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at The Masonic Home, May 10, at 10:30AM. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests donations to The Masonic Home, 902 Jacksonville Rd. Burlington , NJ 08016 and/or Acacia Hospice at the same address. #lifecelebrationbypage To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Walter Eric Whiteman please visit our Sympathy Store.
