George Jacob Bowley Sr.
George Jacob Bowley, Sr., 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born February 14, 1942, in Riverside NJ to Pearl (Neely) and Jacob DeBeer Bowley, George was raised in Burlington City and graduated from Burlington City Sr. High School class of 1960. George attended Rutgers and Temple Universities. He began working for PSE&G in Moorestown in 1962 where he started in the Engineering Department and retired as the Environmental Coordinator for PSE&G Southern Division after 42 years of distinguished service.
George enjoyed playing basketball, whitewater rafting, and fishing trips to Canada with friends. He loved travelling and visited many interesting countries across the globe. George’s passion was for tennis where he was a regular on the local courts. He was a past member of the Niagara Hose Company in Burlington. George was a man of deep faith and a lifelong member of St. Mary’s church in Burlington where he also participated in the Ladle of Love program to serve the local community.
George is survived by his beloved son George Jr. (Judy) and his beloved daughter Tracy Richardson (Jeff), his grandsons Jacob and Steven Bowley, and his granddaughter Penelope Richardson. George is also survived by his dear friend and former wife, Linda Molnar.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 145 W. Broad St., Burlington, NJ 08016 on Friday, March 15, 2024, between the hours of 9:30 – 11am with a funeral mass following visitation. Burial will follow the service. Donations to St. Mary’s church are requested in lieu of flowers.
