Carl Wooden, a US Navy Korean War Veteran, passed away on April 14, 2018. He was 85 years old. A lifelong resident of Burlington City, Carl was Commander of the Captain James MacFarland American Legion Post #79, member of the Boys and Girls State selection committee, VFW, and South Jersey US Submarine Service, Chaplain for NJ South Base Submariners Association, and a supporter of Scouting. He organized and conducted Salute to the Troops for the Army, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, Air Force, Navy, War Dogs, War Dog Handlers, Women Veterans, and Rosie the Riveter. He was a parishioner at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church and Saint Mary's Episcopal Church. He is survived by brothers Robert and Kenneth; children Debra, Carl, and Edward; grandchildren Julia, Justin, Chelsea, Michelle, Carl, and Brendan; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services are private for the family. A Memorial service will be announced at a later date.
