Doris V. Stockton

Doris V. Stockton (nee Robinson) of Burlington Township, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Sunday October 6th at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was 87 years of age. Born in Burlington on April 25, 1926, Doris remained a lifetime area resident. A graduate of Burlington City High School, Class of 1943, she attended Thomas Edison State College and worked as a supervisor for the State of New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development for 20 years, retiring in 1991. Doris was a good friend to many, including the group of friends she had been fortunate to meet via the internet. Predeceased by her parents, Howard and Marion Robinson; in-laws, Goodwin and Anna Stockton; children: James Stockton, Marilyn Stockton, Stacie Stockton Petrone, and grandson, Gary Riley. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Robert (Gene) E. Stockton, daughters: Ginny (Joe) Wilson, Joyce Watson, Sharon (Barry) Riley, Teresa (Dave) Hartner, Kathie (Gordon) Wiese, and Claire Brown, and a son-in-law, Michael Petrone. Also, two sisters- in-law: Elizabeth Mudrick and Winifred Stockton, as well as seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial to be offered Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul R.C.Church, E. Union St., Burlington. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Jacksonville Rd., Burlington. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and again Friday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington.
