Eileen (Nee: Townsend) Russell

Eileen Russell (Nee: Townsend) of Homestead in Columbus, NJ passed away on Friday at the age of 73. Beloved wife of the late Walter, who passed away in December of 2016. Sister of Jean (Charles) and the late Elizabeth. Loving aunt to Eileen Lunny, Michael and Rhonda Hickey and Susan and Stephen Polinsky. She also survived by her precious great nieces, an aunt and many cousins. She was a former Nun of 20 years, serving with the Sister of Mercy. She then became a RN and worked for over 30 years at St. Francis Hospital in New Jersey. She and her late husband loved their home in Little Egg Harbor Township and enjoyed fishing and boating. Relatives and friends may call on from 10am-10:30am at St. Ephrem's RC Church, Hulmeville Road, Bensalem. On Thursday.Mass will follow and be celebrated at 10:30 with burial to follow in the NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Sister Academy, 1416 Springwood Ave., Asbury Park, NJ 07712, for the education of girls from economically deprived families.
