Elizabeth Adams Stobaugh of Burlington, NJ, died July 1, 2012 at Kennedy Hospital in Cherry Hill, she was 89 years of age. Elizabeth was born in Burlington, NJ, and was the daughter of the late William P. Adams and Eva Vogel Adams. She was a graduate of Wilbur Watts High School and attended the Pierce Business School, Earlham College and Burlington County Community College. During World War II, Elizabeth proudly served in the United States Marine Corps attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. While married to the late Max W. Stobaugh, Elizabeth lived in Sandusky, OH, and Cambridge City, Richmond and Ft. Wayne, IN. During this time she held many secretarial positions with major companies and law firms. In 1964 she returned to New Jersey and was employed by the law firm of Bookbinder and Friedman, and in 1966 by the law firm of Herman Belopolsky. Upon Mr. Belopolsky's appointment as a judge, she accompanied him to Mt. Holly. Following the death of Judge Belopolsky in 1978 she remained at the county and later was the secretary to the Honorable Myron H. Gottlieb until her retirement in October of 1987. Elizabeth was respected for her efficiency, knowledge of the law and her amazing vocabulary. Elizabeth was the mother of the late James D. Stobaugh and sister of the late Sara Adams Morrone and William N. Adams. Her son and daughter in law Richard and Dorothy Pettit Stobaugh, her granddaughter and her husband Heather and Sean Duff, her grandson Matthew Stobaugh and her three great-granddaughters, Emily, Erin and Allison Duff survive her. Her sisters in law Josephine Ulissi Adams of Edgewater Park, and Donita Stobaugh Gross of Neenah, WI, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and a special friend, James A. Weetenkamp of Dunbar, TN, also survive her. A viewing will be held Saturday, July 7th from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington. Requiem Mass will be offered at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Episcopal Church, West Broad St., Burlington. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary's Churchyard.
