John Salkowski

John F. Salkowski of Burlington Township, passed away on July 3, 2017 at Royal Suites Rehab Center in Galloway, NJ at the age of 94. John served his country in World War II in the US Army for 3 years. While in the Army he served as an MP and a heavy machine gunner. In December of 1944 he became a POW and was liberated by the Russians on May 8, 1945. He came back home a married the love of his life Helen (Nee: Cebulsky) who passed away on June 15, 2017. John was a self-employed brick mason and an arch specialist. He enjoyed the outdoors, socializing and telling jokes. John also was proud of his homemade dandelion wine and he enjoyed sharing with friends and family, who were happy to enjoy the fruits of his labor. John was also predeceased by his siblings: Joseph, Helen Sadowski, Martha Benoit, Veronica Caggiano and Kathryn Thielman. He is survived by his nieces and nephews: Helen Sadowski, Jean Shinn, Charles Thielman , Philip Marsella George Marsella and Paula Pasqualicchio. The family invites friends to his graveside prayer service at Odd Fellows Cemetery Burlington, Section O-East Lawn, on Friday July 14th at 12:30pm.
