Josephine M. Sweeney

Josephine M. Sweeney (nee Costello), age 98 of Burlington, passed away at home on Monday October 30, 2017. Mrs. Sweeney was born in Burlington and was a lifelong resident. She had been a lifetime parishioner of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, St. Paul's Church in Burlington and had worked at Dolce's Shoe Factory Outlet. She remained very close to the Dolce family throughout her life. At home she loved to cook and bake, especially her world famous brownies. She also enjoyed gardening, quilting and had a very close circle of friends. Daughter of the late Pasquale and Filippina Costello, Josephine was predeceased by her husband Thomas F. Sweeney and her siblings; Edward, Antoinette (Netta), Louis (Curly), Margaret, Pasquale (Pat), and Arthur. She is survived by her daughter Helen & her husband Ric Babula, her son Thomas Jr. & his wife Maria Sweeney, her sister-in-law Laura Costello. Josephine is the proud grandmother of Keith Babula (Kelly), Shaun Babula (Kimberly), Eric Babula (John), and Dana Babula (Billy). She was also the loving great grandmother of Josie, Jordan and Carly Babula. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Family to remember Josephine and celebrate life through faith on Saturday morning between 8:30 am and 10:30 am at the Page Funeral Home 302 E. Union St, Burlington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Church 223 E. Union St, Burlington, Interment will immediately follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
