MaryAnn Muscavage Obituary

MaryAnn Muscavage June 8th, 1937 - May 29th, 2020 MaryAnn Muscavage passed peacefully at Samaritan Hospice in Voorhees at the age of 82. MaryAnn was affectionately known as "Mom", "Grandma", and "MomMom" to her loving family. She was born and raised in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania before she moved to Edgewater Park, New Jersey in 1961 with her family. Later in life, she lived in Leisuretown in Southampton, New Jersey. MaryAnn was the daughter of Albin and Anne Tacelosky. Her father was an engineer in the pioneering days of color television at RCA. He was also was a butcher and a professor of engineering at Penn State University for 25 years. MaryAnn worked at her family's corner store in Mahanoy City in her youth and held various jobs across multiple fields throughout her lifetime. She worked as a medical lab technologist, realtor, a video editor at MacMillan Books and a receptionist for Computer Sciences Corporation, but her favorite role in life was being a mother and grandmother. She was known for her love of traveling and fondness of PBS programs. She traveled around the globe, touring countries such as Ireland, Germany, Greece, Turkey, China, and Lithuania, the country where her grandparents emigrated from. She also visited nearly all 50 states during family road trips and camping trips. MaryAnn's life was filled of travels and experiences, and she was known for her keen memory and storytelling abilities. She cherished her family vacations, including to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and stopping on the way to see the ponies of Chincoteague Island. She was passionate about gardening and reading, and later in life was a member of multiple clubs, including the Leisuretown Book Club, Mystery Book Cub at the Burlington County Library, Medford Gardening Club and Leisuretown Gardening Club. She will be remembered for her open-mindedness, intellect and compassion. She was devoted to her faith and never spoke an ill word towards anyone. She had many lifelong friends and valued every vacation spent with the Muscavage, Kulinski, and Cox families. She loved her dear friends Karen Oleska and Joan Cox, who she has known for over 50 years, and Nancy Warhold, a friendship she cherished for 78 years. MaryAnn was predeceased by her parents, Albin and Anne Tacelosky, and her brother Robert Tacelosky. She is survived by her sister Tecla and her husband Ralph Pierotti of Petaluma, California; and her brother John and wife MaryAnn Tacelosky of Frackville, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her children Rick Muscavage and his wife Janet of Medford, New Jersey; Lynn and her husband Tom Shinn of Edgewater Park, New Jersey; Gregory Muscavage and his wife Mary of Burlington, New Jersey; and Ned Muscavage and his wife Popi of Burlington, New Jersey and Clearwater, Florida. She is survived by her loving grandchildren and two great grandchildren including Jason Muscavage; Meghan and her husband Trace Mattson and their children Hannah and Sawyer; Amanda Muscavage; Derek Shinn; Alexander Shinn; Sarah and her husband Joseph Celona; Nicholas Muscavage; Kaylee Muscavage; Katerina Muscavage; and Dimitri Muscavage. MaryAnn's Life Celebration will be held at a later date, when current restrictions are lifted.
