Reginald Hayman Obituary

Reginald B. "Reggie" Hayman of Willingboro, passed away on June 11, 2019 at the age of 58. Reggie was born in Nuernberg, Germany to George T. Hayman Jr. and Betty M. Hayman. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Sylvia, and their children Regina, Adisa and her husband Peter Manning; grandchildren Hayden, Annabella, Lillian, and Giuliana; siblings Patricia Darby, Benita Ware, George W. Hayman and his wife Valerie, Thomas Hayman, Michael Hayman, Kevin Hayman and his wife Andrea, Desiree Hayman-Young, and Darrell Hayman, along with a host of nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his father George T. Hayman Jr. and sister Sandra D. Vaughn-Thomas. Reggie was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He worked as a Law Enforcement Officer for the Department of Corrections in Burlington County and then later for NJ State Corrections until he was forced into early retirement in 2005 due to health complications. From an early age Reggie had a passion and a gift for music. He spent his childhood singing in his church choir at Saints Memorial and eventually used his gifting to minister on the worship team at First Christian Assembly of God. His love for music included not only worship but smooth jazz and he often referred to himself as "Jazzy Reg." His passions extended beyond spiritual edification and into the kitchen where he blessed the taste buds of those he loved. As an avid chef he enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen bringing joy to friends and family alike. His other interests included golfing, movies, drones, and collecting a wide variety of items from shoes, to hats and watches, as well as many different types of weaponry. However, more than anything he cherished spending time laughing and loving his family. Another one of his aliases was "Pop Pop Willy Wonka" because his grandchildren knew he always had a treat for them in his pocket. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Saints Memorial Church, 11 S. John F. Kennedy Way, Willingboro, NJ 08046 on Saturday June 22, at 11 am.
