Vincent Monastero

Vincent Monastero was a man of family and values. He was a strong and wise mentor who taught us love grows by giving. On Saturday October 14, 2017 at the age of 82, God saw Vincent was getting tired and we gave his love away. Your guiding hand on our shoulder will remain with us forever. Vincent was born in Camden on January 21, 1935 and had been a long time resident of Burlington Township. In his early years Vince was a professional flat track motorcycle racer. He was ranked in the National top ten and the number one racer on the east coast. Vince was a man of many trades. He held a private pilot's license flying out of the Red Lion and The Flying W airports. He enjoyed spending time, at home, in his vegetable garden and journeying into the woods to find himself in the thrill of the hunt. Vincent began his working career at US. Pipe Foundry. Along with his wife they opened A & V Lawn & Garden Center in 1961 which they owned and operated until 1997 when they subsequently opened A & V Greenhouses, in Columbus, wholesaling flowers and mums, until their retirement in 2005. Vince was all about family. He was a good provider, and a loving and dedicated husband and father. Vince is survived by his wife Alice (nee McElwee) Monastero and is the father of Kathrine Monastero and Donna Monastero Balliet. He is the proud grandfather of Craig Roberts, Amy Mosse, Matthew Balliet and great grandfather of Caleb Roberts. Vince is also survived by his brothers; Peter, Joseph & Carlo Monastero. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Monastero family on Saturday morning October 21, 2017 to remember Vincent and pay tribute to a self made family man. We'll be sharing fond memories at the viewing between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm at The Fountain of Life Center 2035 Columbus Rd. Burlington where services will begin at 12:00 - 12:30 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Fountain of Life Center. Burn what is left of me and scatter my ashes to the winds, to help the flowers grow.
