Abraham C Monserrate

Abraham was born in Gurabo Arriba, Puerto Rico on March 17th, 1942, to Pedro Monserrate and Ines Cepada.

He resided in Puerto Rico until he was 14 years of age when he moved to Chicago, Il with his brother. returned to Puerto Rico then moved to Miami, Florida and began to work at Pumpernik’s restaurant as a dishwasher. He met a waitress there and became father to an 18-month-old daughter, got married and had 2 other children.

Abraham moved to Beverly, New Jersey and started working at Burlington House restaurant. This was where he met his current wife and became father to a 3-year-old son. They continued life together and had three more children.

Abraham was a devoted husband and loving father, Brother, Uncle and god father. He was proud to be able to provide for his family. Everyone who met him loved him for his kindness and sense of humor.

Over his lifetime he was a little league baseball coach. He loved to buy and work on cars, going to auctions and supporting his children in sports. He was active member of his church, East Coast for Jesus and was joyful in serving others. He enjoyed his gardening and maintained his churches flower gardens.

He was preceded in death by his parents and multiple siblings.

He survived by his wife, Joanne of 39 years, his brother David (Freddi), Sister Delores, His children- Kris, Deana (Rick), Dennis, Christopher (Erin), Isaac, Joshua (Nikki) , Abra-Ann (Kyle) and Godson Daniel Monserrate along with numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held on November 11th, 2023, at 1pm at the Fountain of life church in Burlington, NJ. Burial will be privately held for immediate family.
