Alice Urbaniec Obituary

Alice S. Urbaniec “Babci” (Nee: Mikulski, lifelong resident of Burlington, New Jersey, gained her angel wings on June 13, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family and faithful feline companion Coco Chanel at the age of 94. Alice was a member of Burlington High School, Class of 1944. Upon her graduation from BHS, Alice began her federal Civil Service career during WWII at Ft. Dix. She then transferred to Base Supply at McGuire AFB where she retired after 42 years of service.

She is a longtime parishioner of All Saints RC Church and a member of the Altar Rosary Society.

In 1955, Alice met her soulmate Eugene (Genek) at a dance at the Hightstown Country Club. They wed in 1956, enjoyed 42 years of marriage and were blessed with six children. They ventured into the business world for a bit, owning and operating “The Urban Drive-In” on Rt. 130 in Burlington.

Daughter of the late John and Mary Mikulski, Alice was predeceased by her husband Eugene, sister Sophie Marino, brother Edwin Mikulski and grandson Christopher Urbaniec.

Alice leaves behind her 6 children: Lisa (John) Carboni, Monica Urbaniec, Cassandra (Tom) Measey, Christopher (Kim) Urbaniec, Valerie Urbaniec and Maria (Joe) Scimone.  Babci is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Tommy (Brandee), Michael (Trang), Courtney (Adam), Kristin (Chris), Mariah (Sam), Mikayla, Devon (Jake), JennaRose (Jake) Isabella (Dylan) and Joseph and her 6 great-grandchildren: Sophie, Lila, Michael, Lilith, Chrisley and Jude. Also survived by her very special “adopted” daughter Mary.

Alice was an avid reader, a great dancer and artistic. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, the Phillies, playing slots at the casino, the Hallmark channel and the Food Network (even though she disliked cooking). The one exception was Mom’s famous Sweet Potatoes that she made every Thanksgiving and Christmas.

She was quick witted and was known for her one-liners that made us all smile.

Alice lived by the motto: “Great Women raise Great Women who raise Great Women”.

The family invites friends to her viewing at Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union Street, Burlington on  Friday from 6-8pm and her funeral mass, Saturday at 11am in All Saints RC  Church, 502 High Street, Burlington.

Cemetery services will be held privately by her family.
