It is with profound sadness that we announce that Alice W. Costello left this world on May 23rd, 2024 at the age of 95 in Burlington NJ. Born to Mabel and William Cook on May 31st, 1928, in Riverton NJ, the second of five children. She attended Riverton Public school and graduated from Palmyra High School in 1945. In 1946 she met the love of her life, Herman, at a Riverside dance. They married in 1948 and settled in Burlington NJ in 1951. They shared two children and were married for 68 years. During her life, she was a member of the Friendly Institution, on the Board of Managers for Aged Women, VP for both St. Paul school and Holy Cross High school PTA and a member of the VFW ladies auxiliary.
Alice enjoyed dancing, sewing, reading and puzzles, but most important to her in life was family. Her love and support for her husband, children and family always shone through. Her bright blue eyes, smile and kindness will never be forgotten. She is survived by her beloved daughter Donna del Costello-Michell, special son-in-law Paul Michell, God’s gift, grandchildren Alison and Trevor Michell, sister-in-law Dot Cook and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by husband Mayor Emeritus Herman T. Costello, beloved children Mark and Sandra, parents Mable S. (Herd) and William W. Cook, sister Carolyn E. Cook Mc Carthy, brothers William W., Leroy and D.W. (Shot) Cook, and special “sister” and best friend Eleanor Cook.

A viewing for Alice will be held Friday May 31st from 8:30-10am at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union Street., Burlington, NJ 08016. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30am Friday in St. Paul R.C. Church 223 E. Union St., Burlington. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Jacksonville Rd., Burlington.
