Andrew "Andy" W DeFlece

Andrew W. “Andy” DeFlece of Springfield passed away on Sunday in Southern Ocean County Hospital at the age of 79. Andy was proud to have grown up working with his family at the Matarese farm on the Burlington Township border. He learned a great work ethic and the true meaning of family. These are values he continued to garner while establishing his own career and family. He was a proud graduate of St. Paul’s School and Holy Cross High School. He started his working career with United Aero and moved on to construction, lastly working for Mattson Enterprises before his retirement. Family, farming and fishing were the things Andy held close to his heart. In his younger years he built and raced his stock car at Wall Stadium. He was a member of the Beach Haven Marlin and Tuna Club. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 58 years Carol Shinn DeFlece and their children: Claire (Ralph) Wainwright, Pamela (Jesse) DeSanto and grandchildren: Adam (Paige) Wainwright, Levi (Emily)Wainwright. The family invites friends to his viewings and funeral. A viewing will be held at Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union Street, Burlington on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 6-8pm. A viewing will be held on Friday at St. Paul’s RC Church from 9:30-10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am with burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Jacksonville Road, Burlington. Donations may be made in his memory to either Catholic Charities, 5 Terri Lane, Burlington, NJ 08016 or to St. Katherine Drexel Parish-St. Paul's RC Church, 223 E. Union Street, Burlington, NJ 08016.
