Angeline “Angie” R. Calderone passed away peacefully at her home in Edgewater Park on Wednesday, September 8, with her son, Sammy, at her bedside. She was a long-time resident of Edgewater Park and a parishioner of Jesus the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Joseph Church in Beverly. Born September 24,1930 to Matalena and Abramo Tomasetti, Angie grew up in Burlington. She graduated in 1949 from Burlington City High School. Upon graduation she worked as a long-distance operator for the phone company. She married her husband Sam in 1953 and enjoyed accompanying him during his professional baseball career. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother whose radiant smile could light up a room. Angie was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Sam, dear son Kevin, her parents, brothers – Anthony, Pat, Joseph, Henry, and sisters – Anna Tulli, Adeline Stachiotti, Emma Matarese, Eleanor Cugliotta-DiSanctis and Louise Yacona. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted son, Samuel “Sammy” Calderone, Jr., dear sister-in-law, Grace Tomasetti, and many nieces and nephews. Sammy would like to thank loving caregivers Sabrina Butler, Tiana Diggs, Ashley and daughter Brooklyn Wilkins, Benjamin DeJesus, Karen and Joe Amberg, Mary Kay Gibson, Kathleen Magowan and everyone who showed kindness and offered prayers during this difficult time. Sammy also extends his gratitude to Dr. William Dow and to the staff of Samaritan Hospice. A viewing will be held at Jesus, the Good Shepherd, St. Joseph Church, 805 Warren Street, Beverly, NJ 08010 on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, from 10:00-11:00am with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00am. Interment will follow Mass at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Jacksonville Road, Burlington, NJ 08016. Due to the current health situation, Facial Coverings will be required for all events. A Life Celebration will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Angie’s name can be sent to Jesus, the Good Shepherd, St. Joseph Church, 805 Warren Street, Beverly, NJ 08010. Please include her name on the check memo line.
