Antonia “Donnie” DiRienzo passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born in Florence New Jersey to John and Ester Filipponi on January 17, 1917 the Year of Fatima and was 104 years old. She married the love of her life, Jack for over 74 years before his passing. Donnie is survived by her children, James (Eileen) DiRienzo, Jackie (Tom) Murphy, Nicholas (Jackie) DiRienzo, her grandchildren: Colleen (Chris) Ruffini, Joanne (Karl) Scholeman, Jennifer (Tom) Spivey, Mark (Maddalena) DiRienzo, Carly DiRienzo, Matthew (Chrissy) DiRienzo, Ryan (Domenique) Murphy; great-grandchildren: Jillian and Jacqueline Ruffini, Simon and Owen DiRienzo, Jordyn and Evan Merger, Veronica Spivey, Jack DiRienzo and Finn and Elin Murphy. She is also survived by her sister Mary Filipponi and sister in law Jane Campbell as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their children. She was preceded in death by her daughter Mary DiRienzo, sisters Agnes Buonanno, Pauline Carugno, Lena Filipponi; brothers Robert and Nicholas Filipponi. Donnie was a long time parishioner of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, a member of the Altar Rosary Society, Young at Heart, Catholic Daughters and various prayer groups. She was previously involved with St. Paul’s PTA, Sewing Circle, Woman’s Club, Yorkshire Alliance, and devoted many hours to the church in different capacities. Donnie worked for over 25 years at the Burlington Coat Factory making coats. She enjoyed to traveling extensively with Jack, and especially enjoyed making many visits to Italy. She was an excellent cook and baker-well known for her Italian Biscuits. A viewing for Donnie will be held from 8:30-10:30am at Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union Street, Burlington on Wednesday followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul’s RC Church/ St. Katharine Drexel Parish at 11am. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in her memory be given to St. Katharine Drexel Parish where she spent her life devoted to God and the Church.
