Arthur Joseph Neiheisel, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 while on hospice care at his home. Born near Cincinnati, OH and one of fourteen children, Art moved to Willingboro before settling at his longtime home in Burlington in 1966 with his beautiful bride & love of his life, Gertrude (nee Stranix). Following twenty-two years in the United States Navy as a Radioman, Master Chief (Submarine Service), Art worked for the United States Postal Service, Burlington County Prison & Sheriff's Office, and the Burlington Township Clerk’s Office. He loved traveling with his wife and “out-laws” after his retirement. He dedicated his life to his family and the Catholic Church as a longtime member of All Saints, where he was the volunteer groundskeeper for decades. He truly took pride in making his home and church exteriors look spectacular, mowing his own lawn until he was 95.
Art is preceded in death by his wife of forty-nine years, Gertrude and their two angel babies, Mark and Jeanine. He is survived by his sister, Mildred Blase, his sons, Arthur “Clifford” and Kevin, and daughter, Mary Chris VanderVeer. In addition to his children, he leaves behind four grandchildren, Melissa (Andy) Reuter, Katie (Daniel) Wright, Nicholas (Mamie) Petti & Amy (Shawn) Pfeiffer, six great grandchildren and three bonus great grandsons, all whom he loved spending time with and watching grow. He also leaves behind dozens of nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday, November 3 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union Street, Burlington and again on Friday, November 4 from 10:00-11:00 AM at All Saints Church, 502 High Street, Burlington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.
Interment will be held, 10am Monday, November 14 at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, North Hanover, New Jersey.
