Carol Kovacs Obituary

Carol Ann Kovacs, 93 years old, of the Masonic Village of Burlington, NJ, passed away on March 2, 2026. She was born on September 21, 1932 in Passaic, NJ; daughter of Joseph and Rose Salerno. Carol was married to the late Joseph Peter Kovacs for 67 years. As a proud military wife for 17 years, Joseph and Carol were stationed in New Jersey, Florida, back to New Jersey, Tokyo Japan, Texas and Madrid Spain. In her younger years she was a Girl Scout leader, CCD teacher and a longtime volunteer for the Githens C.P. Center in Mount Holly. She was a 50+ year member of the Women’s League of Mount Holly. When her children were in college she decided to go to BCC where she received her Associates Degree in Education. Carol had a variety of interests which included visiting many Civil War battlefields and exploring art museums. She was a seamstress, quilter, gardener and an avid reader. Carol enjoyed traveling with her husband to many countries.

Carol was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph Peter Kovacs and their son Jeffery Kovacs. She leaves to cherish her memory their children: Kerry Kovacs (Elizabeth), Kathryn Geary (Nicholas), daughter in law Karen Kovacs; 4 grandchildren: Annie Donchess (Jeffrey), Timothy Geary; Nicole Kovacs (Linsey); Jonathan Kovacs (Hasret); and 2 great-grandchildren: Lawson and Luca Donchess.

A visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Paul’s RC Church, 223, E. Union Street, Burlington on Monday, March 9, 2026. Visitation will be from 10:30 until 10:55am when Mass will begin at 11 am. The family invites all attending to join them after Mass to the Masonic Village Grow Hall for a reception to honor Carol at 12:30pm. Please park behind building to enter Grow Hall.  Private burial and eternal unity with Joe, will be held on Tuesday in Brig. Gen. Wm. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Women’s League of Mount Holly, NJ PO Box 363, Lumberton, NJ 08048
