Catherine B. (Ryan) Howard

Catherine B. Howard (nee Ryan) of Edgewater Park, NJ, entered eternal life on December 6, 2020 at her residence at the age of 83.  Cass (Cathy) was raised in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia as part of a large and loving family that would eventually include 10 children.  Her parents, Bridget and Ben, were proud Newfoundlanders who raised their children to love God and each other, and in the finest Newfoundland traditions of home, hospitality and humor.  As an adult and mother to three children of her own, Cass carried on the principles and values that she learned as a child.  The Howard home in Edgewater Park was a favorite gathering place for her children’s wide circle of friends, as well as the much-loved setting for annual holiday gatherings for an extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.  But even in the largest crowd, Cass made every person feel special with her warmth, compassion and genuine interest in their lives.  For many, memories were made at the Howard home that has lasted a lifetime and Cass is one of the biggest reasons.  She will be sadly missed by her immediate and extended family, her many friends, neighbors and former coworkers and anyone who had the good fortune to spend time in her loving presence.  Cass was predeceased by her husband, Foster C. Howard.  She is survived by her children and their spouses; Mary Kay (Gary) Gibson, Michael (Margie) Howard and John (Brooke) Howard.  She is the loving grandmother of Douglas (Samantha) Burr, Mick, Caitlyn and Harrison Howard.  She is also survived by her beloved siblings James L. Ryan and Elizabeth Lepore as well as many nieces and nephews.   A walk through visitation will be held Friday December 11, 2020 from 9:30am – 10:30am at Page Funeral Home 302 E. Union Street, Burlington City, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Friday at St. Paul R.C. Church, St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 223 E. Union Street, Burlington, NJ.  Facial coverings and social distancing will be required for all events.   Burial will immediately follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.  Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family through www.pagefuneralhome.com.
