Charles "Chuck" W. Akers

Charles “Chuck” W. Akers of Burlington Township, NJ passed away in the early evening hours of June 1st, 2022, in Virtua Hospital, Mt Holly, NJ from cardiac arrest and various other health ailments. Chuck was born on January 8th,1945 and was the 3rd child and 1st son of William W. Akers and Mayola G. (Gilbert) Akers. Chuck attended Burlington City High School and graduated in 1962.  Shortly after graduation he began his career as an electrician’s helper for William C. Blow Electrical Contractors.  Once Chuck attained his electrician’s license, he started his own electrical business and was self-employed for his entire career. He was a member of the Oneida Boat Club in Burlington, NJ, was an avid reader and an American History enthusiast. Chuck collected many items about history such as stamps and political campaign buttons. He was also an avid Phillies fan and watched almost every game. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mayola (Gilbert) Akers, his sister Barbara V. Weizer and his nephew Steven D. Weizer. He is survived by his sister, Jeanne M. Myers of Delanco, NJ, his nephew Thomas D. Weizer and his wife Chrissy of Burlington Township, NJ, his niece Sandra J. Weizer of Northfield, NJ, nephew Christopher D. Myers and his wife Tiffany of Medford, NJ, nephew Timothy R. Myers and his wife Shelby of Washington Township, NJ, nephew David W. Myers and his wife Sarah of Burlington, NC, nephew Kevin M. Myers of Haddon Township, NJ and many great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8th from 10-11 am at Page Funeral Home 302 East Union Street, Burlington, NJ 08016 with a service beginning at 11 am at the funeral home.  Interment services immediately following at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Burlington Township, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the charity of your choice.
