DeHertburn W. Cook

July 11, 1932 – April 28, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of DeHertburn W. Cook on April 28, 2024. He was 91 years old. Born July 11, 1932 to Mabel and William Cook in Riverton, NJ, the youngest of 5 children. He attended Riverton Public School.  Married Dorothy Louise Sapp October 28, 1966.  He served in the Army as a Corporal during the Korean War.   He worked for the Delaware Water Company in Palmyra New Jersey. After moving to Georgia, he retired from Lockheed Air Terminal as a mechanic in 1997. He loved singing karaoke, billiards and fishing with his grandsons. He always enjoyed spending time with 3 sons, daughter, 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Dorothy (Dot), son Doug Cook of Glenwood Springs, CO, son Ronald Elliott of Mt. Holly, NC, daughter Debbie Elliott Goins of Orange Beach AL, grandson Shea Elliott Goins of Houston Texas, Daniel Lee Goins of El Puerto Spain, Matthew Elliott of Charlotte NC, Amy Elliott, Greensboro NC, 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by son Brian Scott Cook, age 3 months and son Robert Elliott, parents Mabel and William Cook, Sr., siblings Carolyn Cook McCarthy, William W. Cook, Jr. and Leroy Cook, and succeeded in death by sister Alice Cook Costello.

A graveside service will be held at Oddfellows Cemetery, Rt. 130 Burlington on September 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers donations are appreciated to the Disabled Veterans at help.DAV.org.
