Diane B. Wood (nee Pelose) of Burlington City passed away Saturday January 10, 2026 at Virtua Hospital, Mt. Holly at the age of 71. Born in Red Bank, NJ, Diane was a longtime Burlington resident. She was a registered nurse who worked in the emergency room at Rancocas Hospital in Willingboro beginning in 1977, a position she held for over 20 years earning several awards and accolades. After leaving the ER, Diane went on to teach health occupations at the Burlington County Institute of Technology, Westampton Campus until her retirement. Always one to help wherever she could, Diane also volunteered with the Mitchell Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and served as the volunteer nurse for the Burlington City High School Marching Band for several years. In her spare time Diane loved traveling, especially camping in Lancaster, cruises and vacations in North Carolina. Despite all of her activities, the thing that meant the most to Diane was her family and the time spent with them. She cherished her entire family, but her grandchildren held the most special place in her heart. Diane was predeceased by her parents George and Dorothy (nee Rooke) Pelose, her sister Debbie Tuno and brother in law Kevin Tuno. She is survived by her husband of over 42 years Edward (Nick) Wood, her children; Christine Wood and Eddie (Tanya) Wood, her grandchildren; Gracie, Jackson, Jaxtyn and Kayleigh. She is also survived by her brother and sister in law George and Alison Pelose and her sister and brother in law Donna and Steve Maffei as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. A visitation for Diane will be held from 9-11am Saturday, January 17th in St. Paul R.C. Church, 223 E. Union St., Burlington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated beginning at 11:30am. Interment will be held privately.
