Donald W. Cobb, Sr., of Burlington City passed away Thursday August 24, 2023 at Complete Care Marcella Center in Burlington Twp. at the age of 82. Born in Brockton, MA, Don was a longtime resident of Burlington City. Upon graduation from Brockton High School, Class of 1959, Don honorably served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Don worked initially for Hercules Chemical Co., then US Pipe and Foundry Company, both in Burlington. He then worked for Rohm and Haas Chemical Company as an electrician for many years until his retirement. While at Rohm and Haas, he served on their Fire Response Unit. That spirit of service and love of firefighting led Don to a long volunteer career with the Neptune Hose Co. No. 5 in Burlington City. He began his career with the Neptune in 1971 and he remained a member until his passing. While active, he served as a Trustee and Treasurer and as Assistant Engineer and Chief Engineer for many years. He also served as Vice President and President of the Burlington City Exempt Fireman’s Association and as a delegate, President and Trustee of the Burlington County Firefighters Association and as an Executive Committeeman to the Burlington County Exempt Fireman’s Association. In his spare time, Don enjoyed watching NASCAR races and he was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. He was predeceased by his parents, Lowell C. and Helen Rae (nee Campbell) Cobb and his brother Lee Cobb. Don is survived by his wife Agnes (nee Lewandowski), his children; Donald, Jr., Judith, Jane and Jennifer, his grandchildren; Callysta, Maximus, Mateo, Andrew and Ethan, his brother Lowell C. Cobb, Jr. and his grand-pup Rocco. Viewings for Don will be held from 5:30-7:30 Tuesday August 29th and from 10-11am Wednesday August 30th at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington. Funeral services will begin 11am Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to the Neptune Hose Co. No. 5, 727 Bordentown Rd., Burlington, NJ 08016 would be appreciated by his family.
