Dorothy E. (Farr) Lavdas

Dorothy E. Lavdas (nee Farr) of Willingboro passed away Sunday February 2, 2025 at Virtua Hospital in Willingboro at the age of 81. Born and raised in Camden, Dorothy was a longtime Willingboro resident. She was a graduate of Delaware Twp. High School and Pierce Jr. College with a business and accounting degree. She was a waitress for many years, lastly for the Dynasty Diner in Delran. She also worked for several years alongside her late husband Stamatios as the owners of a mail courier service. She was very involved with her children and their activities as they grew up. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts and the Girl Scouts, she was a baseball coach and a softball team manager. In fact all the kids in her neighborhood referred to her as Mom. Dorothy also enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, boating, fishing, trips to the casinos in Atlantic City and going to the Latin Casino in Cherry Hill where she got to meet many of the top performers of the day due to her work in the hospitality field. She would also help out at the many festivals held by her church, St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church in Cherry Hill. Despite all the activities she was involved with her favorite time was spent with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved road trips with the family, spending time at her favorite place at the shore, Seaside and taking the dogs to get ice cream. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Stamatios Savas Lavdas, her parents Edgar and Gladys (nee Willette) Farr and siblings; Lois, Sylvia, Edgar and William. She is survived by her children; Timothy, Leonidas (Janet), and Kathleena Lavdas, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Linda Kurz and sister in law Meredith Farr and her special friend and roommate at Burlington Woods, Sara Lee. The family would like to express their thanks to the E-Wing staff at Burlington Woods for the care and compassion shown to Dorothy over the past few years. A viewing for Dorothy will be held from 9:30-11am, Thursday February 13th at St. Thomas G.O. Church 615 Mercer St., Cherry Hill, NJ 08002. Funeral services will begin at 11am. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park, Rt. 130 Cinnaminson.
