Dorothy "Dottie" Cugliotta Obituary

Dorothy A. “Dottie” Cugliotta peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the age of 84, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Born and raised in Burlington, NJ, Dottie was a proud graduate of Burlington City High School, Class of 1958. In 1960, she married the love of her life, Babe, and together they made their home in Burlington City, where they remained devoted members of the community for over six decades. They shared 63 wonderful years of marriage.

Dottie played an integral role in managing the office and finances of Cugliotta Brothers Paving Co. in Burlington. Later in her career, she worked for the NJ State Board of Medical Examiners. Her commitment to Burlington City was evident through her many contributions, including leading International Day, volunteering at the Wood Street Fair, participating in the Historical Society, and even serving a term on City Council.

Summers at the family’s beach house on Long Beach Island were among her greatest joys. She loved playing cards and board games with her grandchildren on the deck, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. In retirement, she and Babe spent their winters in Stuart, Florida, enjoying the sunshine and relaxation together.

Dottie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Babe, and her parents, Bert and Dorothy Hoffman. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Tylenda; her son and daughter-in-law, Santo and Kathleen Cugliotta; her grandchildren, Kathryn (Colin) Brearley, Thomas (Marie) Cugliotta, and Kristine (Ryan) Monaghan; and her adored great-grandchildren, Genevieve Brearley and TJ Cugliotta.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a viewing on Thursday, March 6th, from 8:45-9:45 AM at St. Paul R.C. Church, 223 E. Union St., Burlington.
