Edith C Leeds

Edith Claire Leeds, a lifelong resident of Burlington, NJ, died on Friday, September 21st, 2018. She was 84 years old. She is survived by her children, Claire and Douglas Chiesa, Edward and Kathryn Riegen, Jennifer and John Spencer, and Brian Tudor Leeds; her grandchildren, Brittany, Paige and Cristian, Courtney, David, Daniel, Rachel, John Jr., and Paul; great-grandson Dylan; her sister, Emily Crane; and her cats, Tippy and Inky. She is preceded in death by her sister Thelma MacMillan and her brothers, Gilbert Leeds, and Melvin Leeds. Edith was a member of Harbor Baptist Church in Hainesport; made a career as a bus driver for Burlington Township and Burlington City; gave her time and skills to drive the Easton Union Church bus; and finished her career as a senior clerk working for the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement. She was known for her generous heart and perpetual smile, befriending everyone she met. A memorial service will be held at Harbor Baptist Church at 2131 Marne Highway at 11:00 AM on October 13th, 2018 to celebrate Edith's faith, which is exemplified by the butterflies that she loved: "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." The family would like to thank the caregivers at Virtua Rehabilitation Center and Samaritan Hospice.
