Edward J. “Snooky” Clemens of Burlington passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Cambridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Moorestown at the age of 84. Snooky was born in Pennsylvania, but became a longtime Burlington resident. He was a 1959 graduate of BCHS where he excelled on the football team, earning a varsity spot in his freshman year. Snooky was an equipment operator for Public Service Electric & Gas Co. in Burlington, a career he took great pride in for over 40 years until his retirement. He especially loved operating and cleaning “his” backhoe. He was extremely talented and could fix just about anything. He enjoyed being in his garage, working on cars, doing yard work and taking meticulous care of his home. In his spare time, he enjoyed being with his family and friends, helping with home and automotive repairs, he enjoyed all things automotive, scary movies, fishing and his many dogs and birds over the years. He also loved Miller Lite. In his day, Snooky could be found enjoying a beer or two with friends at The Hi-Way Inn. He also enjoyed his vacations to Mexico. Snooky will be missed by his family for a multitude of reasons including his work ethic, dedication to those he loved, willingness to lend a helping hand, as well as, his sometime grumpy personality and sarcasm. Mostly, his family will miss hearing him say, “watch the ice” which they knew meant, “be careful, I love you”. Snooky was complimented through his entire life through his ending days for his beautiful eyes, both color and expressiveness. He was predeceased by his parents Edward F. and Cecelia (nee Mazur) Clemens, his daughter, Barbara “Bobbie” Harry, his brother- in-law, Benjamin “Skinny” Biluck and his nephews, Brian VanSciver and Michael Biluck. He is survived by his lifelong love, Barbara Clemens, his daughters; Toni (Lance) Lott, Wendy (Phil) Dengler and Shelley (Bryan) Cutshaw, his grandchildren; Charlie, Ashley, Eric, Colin, Chelsey, Amber, Macy, Tyler, Isabella, Kyle and Colby as well as 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters; Patsy (Richard) VanHise and Nancy Biluck and his brother-in-law, Ronald VanSciver, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. A viewing for Snooky will be held Saturday, October 26th from 12-2pm at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington. Funeral services will begin at 2pm. Interment will be held privately.
