Frederick (Fred) Henry Weber, born in Brooklyn, NY, longtime resident of Westampton, NJ, passed peacefully, surrounded by family after a short illness at 79, on Wednesday, December 6th.
He leaves behind his wife of 52 years Elaine Weber, daughter and son-in-law Irene & Jay Alizade and granddaughter Katrina, as well as many dear nephews and nieces and longtime friends. Predeceased by his parents Carl and Agnes Weber, sisters Marie vonBargen & Alma DeGrasse & brother Charles Weber.
He studied accounting at Wagner College and had worked for many exciting places over the years at places such as Butterick and First National City Bank in NYC. He also took over the family delicatessen in Brooklyn and enjoyed running it for many years. He served time in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. After retiring he liked to volunteer on the Battleship NJ.
Fred was an avid Civil War and early Germanic period history buff. He loved to spend time watching Formula 1 races, catching up with his buddies over some bowling and beer, and watching old movies. He was a man of few words and enjoyed going to church. He loved getting to spend time with his granddaughter and teaching her all about a love of Swiss cheese sandwiches and leaving room for desert, especially cookies. Fred will leave a vast hole in all our hearts but we will cherish our memories of him forever.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church 1308 Burlington Mt. Holly Rd., Burlington, NJ at 11am on Friday, December 15, 2023. Friends and family may join for the viewing from 10-11am. Interment to follow the service at Odd Fellows Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Burlington NJ or the Battleship NJ.
