Gladys Martz Obituary

Burlington, NJ – Gladys L. Martz, 98, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026.  Born in Trenton, NJ, she resided most of her life in Mercer County before becoming a resident of the Masonic Village in her 90s.  Gladys was a homemaker, raising three children with her husband Don during their 66 year marriage.  During this time, she enjoyed vacationing with the family at the Jersey Shore, camping in a series of recreational vehicles, dinners out, reading, and making excellent chocolate chip cookies.  In retirement years, Gladys and Don kept active by walking, bicycling, square dancing, and roaming the aisles at the Columbus Farmer’s Market.  For a few months each winter, they would drive to Florida in their RV to enjoy the beach and to escape the northern cold.  After her move to the Masonic Village, Gladys could often be seen with her daughter Donna enjoying a game of Bingo or attending a musical event, tapping her foot or clapping along.  She always looked forward to attending ice cream socials and indulging in her favorite sundae, or sitting peacefully outside soaking up the sunshine, socializing with other residents, or feeding the squirrels.

Gladys was predeceased by her husband Donald, her sisters Edith Montervino and Alice Drugan, and by her daughter-in-law, Lynne Martz.  She is survived by her son David, her son Larry and wife Susan, her daughter Donna Costantini and husband George, her granddaughter Jennifer Martz, her granddaughter Dana Petrone and husband Edward, her great-grandchildren Harper and Dylan Petrone, her brother-in-law Duane Martz, and many nieces and nephews.

Private interment will be at a later date.
