Harry W. Rubin

Harry W. Rubin of Burlington Twp. and formerly of New York City passed away Wednesday June14, 2023 at Virtua Hospital Mt. Holly at the age of 98. Born in Brooklyn, NY Harry was a World War 2 Veteran, serving honorably in the US Army. After his time in the military, Harry worked as a carpenter, while studying engineering at night. Through hard work and perseverance, Harry earned his engineering degree and eventually became the building manager of the Lever House Building in New York City until his retirement in 1998. In his spare time, he enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles, he was an avid reader and he also enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He most enjoyed spending time and traveling with his wife of 77 years, Shirley. Together they took many trips both nationally and internationally. He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley and their children; Carol (Mark) Cohen, Steven Rubin, David (Janice Leber) Rubin, Marcia (Henry) Gerkens and Eleanor (Max) Huckins, his grandchildren; Michael (Christine) Cohen, Kristin Gerkens, Brian Gerkens and Julie Gerkens. He is also survived by his great grandchildren; Aidan Cohen, Brady Cohen, Chase Dodson and Dahlia Dodson. A graveside service with military honors will be held 1:30pm, Tuesday June 20, 2023 at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, North Hanover (Wrightstown) NJ. Those attending the service should enter off of Provinceline Rd. and advise the cemetery staff that they are attending the Rubin service and they will make sure you are in the proper line. It is advisable to arrive 10-15 minutes early so that the service may remain on time as we are on a strict time schedule.
