Helga Elsa Floyd (nee Muth) 91 of Willingboro NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024. Helga was born in Kassel, Germany on February 18, 1932, daughter to the late Conrad and Helene Muth. Raised in Germany and moved to the USA after meeting and marrying her husband the late Robert V. Floyd.
She was predeceased by her brother Lotha Muth in 2016, her husband Robert V. Floyd in 1983, her son Marvin Herald in 1954, and her daughter Karen F. (Floyd) Smith in 2005 and leaves behind her daughter Petra H. Floyd, brother Dieter Muth and his wife Renate of Germany, and 3 grandchildren; Winston V. Waller and wife Natasha of Connecticut; Brandi R. (Smith) White and husband Jo’el of Willingboro; and Tiffani S (Smith) Rivera and husband Joseph of Willingboro.
Helga also leaves 7 beloved grandchildren: Saniyyah M. Waller, Muthoni A. Waller, Munira W. Waller, Bria N. White, Zi’yan R. White, Paige K. Rivera, and Joseph Rivera; her niece Susanne (Muth) Stöhr and her husband Heiko of Germany; 5 grandniece and grandnephews; Johanna, Silas, Bennett, Noah, Louis; and longtime friend Helga Burge.
Helga completed her high school education in Germany and worked shortly after at a paper factory before relocating to the USA. She was passionate about her family. She cherished family time and made every holiday season special by incorporating German culture through food and desserts. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an animal lover and lived with Punky (her dog), Henz (her bird), and her beloved Kit-Kat (her cat). She cared for all animals and often fed stray animals. She loved making people happy and enjoyed going out to dinner and the casino with her late friends Rose and Kay.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 11am -12noon, Wednesday February 7th, at the Page Funeral Home, 302 East Union Street, Burlington, NJ 08016. A service of remembrance will begin at the funeral home at noon. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rt. 130 and Beverly Rd., Burlington.
