Jean Marie Gallagher

Jean Marie Gallagher, age 92, a 12 year resident of Friend’s Home & Village, Newton, PA, and most recently Crestview Center, Langhorne, PA passed away peacefully on February 7, 2023.  Jean was born in Phoenix, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, longtime residents of Burlington, New Jersey, James J. Gallagher and Ella Asay Gallagher.  Also preceded in death by her sister, Alice Gallagher Norcross, brother, Philip J. Gallagher, sister, Veronica Gallagher Bainbridge, nephews, Richard H. Bainbridge, James J. Bainbridge and great-nephew, Marc R. Bainbridge.  Jean is survived by many generations of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Early in her career, Jean worked in New York and New Jersey as a director, a supervisor, and a sales trainer for well know companies, such as Bell Telephone, Revlon Corp, International Latex Company, and Mademoiselle Magazine.  As a recovering alcoholic for 56 years, Jean was most proud of her work with the Mercer County Alcoholism Board and the Pennsylvania Governor’s Council on Alcoholism.  She attended Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings throughout her life, sponsoring many fellow recoveries and counselled many Friends of Bill W.  She attended Rider College, Hunter College, Rutgers College and Ursinus College. She enjoyed traveling during her professional and retired life. She would always love to celebrate family events and holidays.   Jean will be greatly missed by the Norcross, Bainbridge, Hulse families and the dear friends that cherished her. Family and friends are invited to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, February 13th, 10:30 AM at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, 223 East Union Street, Burlington, NJ   08016-1729.  Her interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Burlington, NJ. Friends may gather from 9:30 AM until 10:15 AM at the Church prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers or memorials, contributions would be appreciated by Jean and accepted to Friend’s Home and Village, 50 South Congress Street, Newtown, PA  18940-1906.
