Joanna Fanourgakis- Megariotis

Joanna Fanourgakis - Megariotis, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 13, 2021.

She was born on October 12, 1938 in Andros, Greece and came to the United States at the age of 12 with her two older sisters, Mary and Francesca - “The Golden Girls”. 

After marriage, Joanna raised her 3 children, Sam, Michael, and Olga, who were her world.

Joanna’s pride and joy were her 6 grandchildren, Katerina, Aliki, Nikonia, Nicholas, Evan, and Niko, 2 great-grandchildren, Christopher and Samantha, and countless nieces and nephews, whom she treated as her own. 

During the year, you could find Joanna in Columbus watching her Greek movies, having coffee with her sisters and friends, or sitting with her 2 birds. She would spend her summers in Greece, soaking up the sun and visiting relatives. 

Joanna had a passion for living life to the fullest. She was always the life of the party and had an infectious attitude that encouraged others to enjoy life as well. Of all the things, Joanna always wanted to surround herself with her family and make them feel loved.
