Joanne Lanni of Burlington Township passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family after a brief illness at the age of 82. Joanne was born and raised in Philadelphia. She raised her family outside of Pittsburgh before moving to Burlington Township in her later years. She was a devoted member of All Saints RC Church in Burlington and belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society.
Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends. To know her was to love her and she made friends everywhere she went. She has a kind and loving soul and treated everyone she knew as if they were family. She loved the Jersey shore, where you could find her either sitting in a rocking chair or bench on the boardwalk enjoying the salty sea air. In her later years technology could not slow her down as her iPad and Facebook became new ways to stay in touch. You may have to listen to Mandy or Coppa, but You Can’t Smile without thinking about Joanne. She leaves to cherish her memory: Son Thomas (Debra) Lanni, Daughter Susan (Warren) Fisher, Daughter in law: Debra Lanni; grandchildren: Farrah (James), Alicia (Anthony), Joseph (Olivia), Paige (Peter), Jared, Cole and Anthony; Great-grandchildren: Ava, Maria, Stella, Giovani and Amelia; A sister Catherine; Nieces Kelly, Erin and Shawn. Joanne was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Margaret Whitehouse, siblings: Thomas and Isabelle and her beloved son Mario
The family invites friends to her viewing and funeral Mass in St. Paul’s RC Church, 223 E. Union Street, Burlington on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Viewing will be from 9:30-10:30am with Mass of Christian Burial starting at 11am. Burial services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers we would like any donations to be made to ALS United Mid-Atlantic in honor of her son Mario.
