John C. (Jack) Evans of Burlington Township, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by those he loved on Friday April 7, 2023 at the age of 77. Born in Riverside to John W and Sarah Evans (nee: Measey) he was a lifelong resident of Burlington who graduated from Burlington Senior High School in 1964. He joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in multiple locations abroad, his favorite being Panama. He met the love of his life, Carol, when they were both in a friend’s wedding. They married in May 1970 and were happily married for 37 years until her passing in 2007. While raising their two sons Jack spent years volunteering for the Burlington Township Recreation Department as a Commissioner and coached many baseball and street hockey teams. For many years he worked with his mother running William Measey and Sons Florist in Burlington City. In his later years he enjoyed being Pop-Pop to his grandkids, often coming up with fun things to do like a hunt for buried pirate treasure down at the shore. He is predeceased by his wife Carol L Evans (ne: Taubel). He is survived by his sons and daughter in law: Jeffrey S. Evans of Waretown NJ and John E (Eric) and Alicia Evans of Burlington NJ, and his grandchildren: Evelyn, William, J., Eddie, John and Daniel, his brother Richard (Bird) Evans (Paula) and multiple nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be Saturday April 15, 2023 at Page Funeral Home 302 E. Union St., Burlington from 8-10am with a short service to begin at 10am. Burial will follow immediately after at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 4527 US Rt. 130, Burlington.
