John J. Zalewski

John J. Zalewski ,86 of Burlington Twp., NJ passed away peacefully at home on September 4,2023.
 

He was born in 1937 in Philadelphia . He was a US Army veteran (79th infantry division) and an engineer/designer who began his career at Inductotherm Corp. and continued on until retirement at Lockheed Martin/RCA in Moorestown NJ.
 

He married the love of his life Dolores on October 10,1959 in Philadelphia PA and they moved to New Jersey.

Our dear dad said to mom “How about you stay home and take care of the children and I’ll go make the money.”

John and Dolores went on to have 4 children.
 

Once he became a grandfather he quickly assumed the role and was known as “Dziadzi”(Polish for grandfather). He shared his beautiful singing voice with the choir at All Saints Church for many years.
Dad’s favorite song to sing to our mom was,“Everybody Loves Somebody Sometimes.” Mom would still say after 63  years of marriage “ Oh what a beautiful voice he has!”

He was an exceptional baseball player in his youth and a lifelong fan of the Phillies, Eagles and Penn State football. He was a lifelong role model for many.
 

He will be remembered for his selfless dedication to his family, his work ethic and his willingness to always put others before himself.He welcomed everyone into their home and made them feel like they were family.

He was preceded in death by his  sisters: Lorraine Szramkowski and Mary Reynolds and his granddaughter Courtney A Leopold.
 

He is survived by his dedicated and loving wife of 63 years Dolores.

He is also survived by his son John Zalewski, and his daughters Jane Zalewski (Michael), Janice Zalewski and Joyce Solero (Ivan).

His grandchildren: Alex Carnivale (Nicole), Dana Donahue (Jim) and Vince Carnivale (Emily) and 4 beautiful great-grandchildren: Sophia, Dean, Brielle and Gianna Alexis.
