Joseph Richard Nowak

Joseph Richard Nowak, 84, of Edgewater Park, NJ passed away peacefully on March 11, 2021 after a stroke and respiratory failure.  Joe was born on June 18, 1936 to Stanislaus and Louise (Hentz) Nowak in Philadelphia, PA.  After graduating from North Catholic High School, Joe met Joan Christy and they wed June 29, 1957 and went on to have five children, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  In 1958 he went to work for RD Bitzer where he held various jobs and developed many special friendships until his retirement in 2000.  Upon retirement Joe and Joan became snowbirds and spent many years traveling together.  Joe was also a passionate stamp collector, John Wayne enthusiast and history buff.  He enjoyed visiting historic places and checking out antique stores with his life-long love, Joan.  Anyone who knew Joe knew that he was the most loving husband and father a family could ask for.  Joe was predeceased by his father Stanislaus, mother Louise and sister Magdalene.  He is survived by his wife Joan Christy-Nowak, his children: Mary and Bill Centinaro, Joan Nowak, Patricia and Jerry Reilly, Joseph and Donna Nowak and Karen and Greg Cacace; his grandchildren: Kevin and Blair Reilly, Bill and Kristi Centinaro, Melissa and Michael Ross, Nicole and Drew Wolcott, Gregory and Tiffany Cacace, Joseph Nowak, III, Dominic Cacace, Alexdrandra Nowak, Isabella Cacace and Amanda Nowak; his great grandchildren: Ryan and Ethan Ross and Olivia Wolcott; his brother Steven (Bobby) Nowak.  A walk through visitation will be held Thursday March 18, 2021 from 8:45-9:45am at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30am Thursday at Corpus Christi RC Church 11 S. Sunset Rd., Willingboro.  Interment will be held privately.  Masks and social distancing will be required for all events.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Stroke Association, American Heart Association/ American Stroke Association PO Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241-7005 or online at www.stroke.org.
