Joseph G. Ricci of Edgewater Park passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 at the Samaritan Inpatient Unit in Mt. Holly at the age of 86. Born in Providence, RI to the late Antonio and Angiolena (nee Castelucci) Ricci, Joseph was a longtime Edgewater Park resident. He was an Air Force Veteran, honorably serving in the period between the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Joseph worked as a computer technician for Martin Marietta until his retirement. He was well known for his skill at troubleshooting computer problems and writing programs to resolve any issue that came his way. He also built his own PC. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Burlington Twp. for many years. He was always learning, taking classes and taught himself many things. He learned two languages; Italian, a necessity in a home where his parents emigrated from Italy, and Japanese, just because he wanted to learn it. Joseph was a problem solver; he could fix anything no matter what it was. He was handy in electrical, automotive or woodworking. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling with his wife Edythe. Joe and Edie shared 64 years of loving marriage. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a philosophical person with a kind and gentle nature and as someone who was very gregarious, outgoing and well loved by family and friends. Joseph was predeceased by his loving wife Edythe, who passed away a week prior and his granddaughter Laura-Marie. He is survived by his children and their spouses; Terri E. and Richard Carter, Joseph D. and Sheryl Ricci and Lynda-Marie and Timothy Foor, his grandchildren; Bryan, Joshua, Christopher, Jonathan, Joseph, Kyle and Ryan. He was looking forward to the arrival of his first great grandchild, expected in March 2021. He is also survived by his sister Elsie Ricci and many nieces, nephews and other family members. Funeral services for Joseph and his beloved wife Edythe will be held privately with entombment in the Mausoleum by the Lake in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to the HTELC Social Ministries, 1308 Mt. Holly Rd., Burlington Twp., NJ 08016 would be appreciated by his family.
