Joyce J Wilkinson

Joyce J. Wilkinson (nee Burke) passed away Wednesday March 24, 2021 at Brookdale Evesham in Voorhees at the age of 87.  Born in Savannah, GA Joyce was a longtime Burlington area resident.  She worked for many years for the Acme supermarket and later for Shop N Bag, from where she retired.  She also worked for the Burlington City Police Dept as a helper and crossing guard.  Joyce was a former member of the Red Hat Society and was very active in the New Testament Baptist Church in Trenton.  Joyce was very outgoing and loved life and spending time with people.  She was a true social butterfly, involved in many activities, especially playing bingo and pinochle.  She was a very active member of the St. Paul’s School PTA and also the church. In recent years, Joyce made many friends and was involved in many of the social activities at Brookdale.  She also loved to travel and entertain, but she most enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  Joyce was predeceased by her parents Benjamin and Ila (nee Sills) Burke, her seven siblings and her husband William F. Wilkinson.  She is survived by her children; William A. Wilkinson, James L. Wilkinson and Tara L. Wilkinson-Platt, her grandchildren; Jennifer, Brittany, Kristen, Ashley, Jamie, William, Kelsey, Travis and Ryan Wilkinson as well as 13 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other family members in Savannah.  A walk through visitation will be held Saturday April 24th from 11-11:45am at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington.  Funeral services will begin at 11:45 at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rt. 130 and Beverly Rd., Burlington.  Facial covering and social distancing will be required for all events.
