Margaret Zoppina Obituary

Margaret May Zoppina age 88, of Burlington City passed away peacefully on March 15th, exactly 8 years to the day of her beloved husband, Vincent. She was known by many as Nan and was loved by all who knew her. She was born on Aug 31, 1932 in Exeter, England. She was a member of the Women’s Royal Army Corps in England. During her time of service she met her husband of 55 years. Together they moved to the United States where they raised their beloved family.  Margaret “Nan” worked as a school crossing guard for the Burlington City School District for many years. Students started their day with a kind word or hug from her when they arrived at her post. She loved to smile and wave at anyone that passed by her whether it was on her post or on her porch at home. When she wasn’t at her post it was a common sight to see her riding her bike through Burlington and always loved to stop for a conversation. Margaret “Nan” loved playing bingo and going to the casinos. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary for Neptune Hose Co. Her most memorable moments though were the times she spent with her family. Family to her meant everything!  She is survived by her sister Joan Williams of LLandudno, North Wales, her children: Sue (Noel) Keenan of England, Angelina(David) Jennings, Margaret Urbshot(Orlando Beckles), Vincent (Michelle) Zoppina, and Yvonne (Dean) DiPalo, her grandchildren: Simon Kinser, Mathew(Sophia) Keenan, Dana (Jason Sr.) Baldorossi, Robert (Stephanie) Jennings, Noella D’Agostino (Stephen Gennello), Ryan (Macy) Urbshot, Stephanie Zoppina (Sean Carlin), Arielle Zoppina, Nick and Sydney DiPalo. her great grandchildren: Jason Jr., Alyssa, Angelina, Dominick, Hendrix and Kailo, many nieces, nephews and a special cousin Joann Bowen.  A walk through viewing for Margaret will be held Sunday, March 21st from 6-8pm and again Monday March 22nd from 10-11am at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington.  Services will begin Monday at 11am.  Interment will be at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover at 1pm. Facial coverings and social distancing will be required for all events.   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Margaret’s name to Riverview Estates,  303 Bank Ave, Riverton, NJ 08077 or to the Burlington County Animal Shelter,  35 Academy Dr, Westampton, NJ 08060.  Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family through www.pagefuneralhome.com.
