Martha Bennett (nee Ayrer) passed away Thursday June 11, 2026 after a lengthy illness at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden at the age of 57 after a lengthy illness. Born in Trenton, she was a longtime resident of Burlington and Edgewater Park. Martha was very family oriented and loved spending time with them, whether it was down the shore, trips to Orlando and the Caribbean or the Hard Rock Casino. She loved home decorating and went all out every holiday, both indoors and outdoors. She also enjoyed fashion, and flowers, especially her garden and house plants. Martha loved music and had a superb singing voice! She was an avid Stevie Nicks fan. Martha truly loved her family and friends, good times and bad. Her door was always open. All were blessed to have her in their lives. Throughout the years she worked for family businesses, Meals on Wheels, Payco and security services. Martha babysat and helped raise all of her sibling’s children and loved them dearly, as well as her cousins, nephews, nieces and their children. She was predeceased by her daughter, Veronica H. Ayrer, her parents, James C., Sr. and Helen Theresa (Tresansky) Ayrer, her husband Robert J. Bennett (Whock), her maternal grandmother Emma Snyder Tresansky and siblings James C. Ayrer, Jr., of Burlington, Joseph C. (Karen) Ayrer of Browns Mills and Rita E. Ayrer of Smithville, NJ. Martha is survived by her goddaughter Avery Ayrer, her stepdaughter Megan Bennett, her siblings; Christine Becker of Burlington, Patrick (Renee) Ayrer of Edgewater Park, Emma Dale of Hawley, PA, Mariane “Boo” (David) Lyczak of Burlington, Ilona (Lani) Abele of Delanco and Timothy (Kristen) Ayrer of Newtown, PA. She is also survived by her special nephew Jonathan Abele and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mass will be held at St. Paul R.C. Church, 223 E. Union St., Burlington, 11am Tuesday June 23rd. Final goodbyes will be held in the church prior to mass from 10-10:55am. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
