Mary E Hopps

Mary Elizabeth Hopps of Burlington City passed away Thursday July 18, 2024 at the Samaritan Inpatient Hospice Center in Mt. Holly at the age of 59. Born in Los Angeles, CA Mary was a longtime Burlington area resident. She was a homemaker for most of her life who also held several jobs as her children got older. She was an ordained minister and loved gardening and sewing. Mary was predeceased by her husband Christopher Hopps and is survived by her four children; Mary Sherrill, Paul Sherrill, Patrick Sherrill and Samantha Hopps, her grandchildren; Paul and Noah Sherrill, her brothers; Robert, Michael, Dennis “Joe” and Herbert, her nieces Jaycee Dennis and Cheyenne Rose Salazar, her close friends Mary Katherine Howard and Lillian Funk Robinson as well as former husband Paul Sherrill. A viewing for Mary will be held Thursday July 25th from 2-3:30pm at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington. Funeral service will begin at 3:30 at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately.
