Michael Levesque Obituary

Michael J. Levesque of Columbus and formerly of Burlington Twp. passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at his residence surrounded by family and friends. Mike was born on Ft. Dix, NJ and grew up in Burlington Twp. He was a 1982 graduate of Burlington Twp. High School. Beginning in his teens, Mike worked with his Dad as a truck mechanic and also would work on friends and neighbors cars and trucks. He worked for Fireline repairing fire apparatus and later for United Rentals, from where he retired after over 33 years of service. He also served his community as a member of the fire department. He began his volunteer career in the fire service in 1979 when he joined the Mitchell Fire Co and the Young America Fire Co. in Burlington City. When he turned 18, Mike joined the Burlington Twp. Fire Dept., eventually becoming a member of all three companies. He was most active with the Beverly Rd. Fire Co., where he rose through the ranks to become Chief of the Burlington Twp. Fire Department. He was a member of several organizations including the Burlington County Fire Chiefs Assoc., the Burlington Twp and Burlington County Exempt Fireman’s Associations. He was also a member and active judge for the NJ State Parade Judges Association. In his spare time, Mike loved to fish especially on Long Beach Island. He was a member of the NJ Beach Buggy Association, the TK Club and the Moose Lodge, both in Burlington. He also enjoyed playing guitar and he had a passion for older cars and race cars as his collection shows. His favorite was his 1955 Chevy Belair. Mike was predeceased by his parents Walter J. and Barbara Ann (nee Taggart) Levesque, his grandparents Sarah (nee Cunningham) and Charles Taggart and his sister in law Lois Williams. He is survived by his wife Donna (nee Williams) Levesque, his brothers in law Larry (Linda) Williams and Gary Williams. He is also survived by his aunt Dorothy Levesque and his nieces and nephews; Michael (Christa) Williams, Mark (Emily) Williams, Bradley Williams, Lauren (Justin) Oltsmanns, Christopher Williams and Stephanie (Tim) Evans as well as his fur babies Daisy and Lucy. A viewing for Mike will be held Friday January 31st from 6-8pm and Saturday February 1st from 10-11am at the Page Funeral Home, 302 East Union St., Burlington. A funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 11am. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, 4527 US Rt. 130 Burlington. Memorial contributions made to either the Burlington County Animal Shelter, 35 Academy Dr., Westampton, NJ 08060 or to the Beverly Rd.
