Mildred Simmons of Burlington Township passed away Tuesday May 27, 2025 at Virtua Hospital in Willingboro. She was predeceased by her husband Charles and brothers Andrew, Frank and Glenn Sandusky. Mildred was born and raised in Burlington, NJ. She was a graduate of Burlington City High School, Class of 1946. She was employed for 24 years at the former Hercules Plant in Burlington Township and at Smith’s Transfer in Cinnaminson, NJ for 10 years. Mildred was happily married to Charles Simmons for 54 years. They were known as “Aunt Mimi” and “Uncle Weez” to their nieces and nephews and enjoyed many “fun activities” with them over the years. Mildred and Charles enjoyed many vacations to Long Beach Island. In retirement they traveled to National Parks on the east and west coasts and traveled twice to Europe with friends. When Charles passed away in 2009, the support of family, church members, neighbors and friends was greatly appreciated. She is survived by her sister in law Alta Sandusky and several nieces and nephews. Services and interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mildred may be made to the Grace Community Presbyterian Church (formerly Burlington Presbyterian Church), 300 Mill Road, Burlington, NJ 08016.
